Our Story
Born in a Prague Basement in 2019
It started with a group of urban explorers who were tired of discovering remarkable places and having nowhere to share them responsibly. Derelict sanatoriums, Cold War bunkers, medieval ossuary chapels — incredible sites with no legitimate way to access or stay in them.
Three historians and a developer met at a Prague speakeasy and agreed on a simple principle: dark tourism deserves a trusted, curated platform as much as beach holidays do. Within six months they had launched with 40 listings across Czechia, Slovakia, and Poland.
Today MidnightQuest covers 12 countries and has facilitated over 48,000 stays in locations that most people never knew existed. We remain headquartered in Prague — a city that understands the weight of hidden history better than most.
